Job Stress Management among Technical and Vocational Education Training Teachers of Selected Federal Colleges of Education in South South Nigeria

Abstract


Job stress is a state of psychological and physiological disequilibria arising from different physical and social events of life work, academic pursuit, activities of daily living among others. The study, therefore investigated how Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) Teachers of selected Federal Colleges of Education, South-South, Nigeria could manage job stress. The population for the study were TVET teachers of selected Federal Colleges of Education, with a sample size of 250 respondents, and the simple random sampling technique was used in selecting them. The main instrument used for the study was a self-developed, structured and validated questionnaire. The t-test statistics was used to analyse and test the hypotheses at 0.05 alpha level. Finally, conclusion was made and recommendations were proffered on how to better manage job stress among Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) Teachers
