Abstract

Yatra Naryastu pujyante Ramante Tatra Devatal I

Yatraitaastu Na Pujyante Sarvaastatrafabaah kriyaah II[1]

Meaning-

Where women are honoured, divinity blossoms there; and where they are dishonoured, all action remains unfruitful.

We are born in India which believes in Manuscript and believes Ravana was destroyed because he abducted Sita – wife of Rama.

And kauravas destroyed because they insulted Draupadi – wife of Pandavas. It is wise and apposite to say that women have ever been given reverence and importance in Indian society. It has been observed time and again that a society that has detested and enslaved women or subjected her to humiliation has declined fast. Man and women both have contributed in the development of the society. The  society cannot stand even for a single day but for the women the great poet and dramatist has gone to the extent of laying encomium on her through various epithets like ghrihidi, sakhi, sachive or priya shishya as per Varahmihir, dharma and aarth is based on women. It is they who provide passionate satiation and the bless of progeny. They are the lakshmi.[2]

But nowadays, it is so unfortunate, dishearten and rather shameful that a country where women were respected so much in ancient times has stooped to such level that women think twice before going out at night.
