A Psychological Study on Educated Unemployed –Training Program

The possibility and probability of youth getting employment was high 50 yearsago. Young men and women with a minimum level of education and reasonable competencies were able to find employment and the competition for the jobs was comparatively less. A person with a basic under graduation degree could findemployment without much difficulty. However, due to rapid change andglobalization there is a change in the current day employment scenario. There isarapid increase in the number of ‘Eligible’ candidates for a particular positionandthe competition is growing at an ever increasing pace. Due to globalizationanduse of internet, the employer has an option to screen ‘Eligible’candidatesfromany part of the world. This has created a thought in the mind ofemployertogetthe best ‘Eligible’ and ‘Suitable’ candidates. The investigator wouldliketopointout that the term ‘Eligible’ in the present context means, possession ofrequirededucational qualifications for the job under consideration and the word ‘Suitable’mean presence of desirable behavioural traits for the job under consideration. The employers in the current day are looking beyond the educationalqualifications and for competencies that would help the organizationsachieveglobal success. The research would like to describe the global scenariointhecontextof employment as it is felt relevant. Globalization has opened doors for various organizations to make their presence felt in countries with developingeconomy like India and has also created employment opportunities for the youthinIndia.
