The Growing Problem of Deforestration in India: Its Causes and Effects

Abstract


It is a well known fact that environment degradation is a key issue of today’s world politics. It has attracted of many scholars and intellectuals. As we know the earth is burning due to climate change. Some people think that the problem of deforestation has become a part and parcel of the problem related to environment degradation in India as well as in the world scenario. However deforestation in simple term means the feeling and clearing of forest cover or tree plantations in order to accommodate agricultural, industrial or urban use. It involves permanent end of forest cover to make that land available for residential, commercial or industrial purpose. Therefore, the present research paper aims at to highlight the problem of deforestation and its causes and effects on environment.
